Digital asset accounting continues to evolve as new transaction structures, regulatory expectations, and financial reporting considerations emerge across the industry. In this session, representatives from FASB and leading audit firms will share practical perspectives on some of the more complex, judgment-intensive accounting issues facing digital asset organizations today. Learn about recent standard-setting developments, implementation challenges, and areas where practice continues to evolve. In addition, this discussion aims to help accounting professionals strengthen technical conclusions and financial reporting processes.
Learning objectives:
- Apply current U.S. GAAP guidance to digital asset accounting issues, including areas that require judgment and where accounting practices may differ.
- Describe recent FASB developments and standard-setting activities affecting digital asset reporting and the impacts on financial statement preparation, disclosures, and internal accounting policies.
- Assess auditor perspectives on high-risk accounting matters to support audit-ready documentation and defensible accounting conclusions.
CPE credit: Up to 1.0 CPE credits (pending approval) in the Accounting field of study may be awarded upon verification of participant attendance.
